The Malta Gay Rights Movement (MGRM) is organising a series of activities to celebrate Diverscity Week 2009 between the 13 and 18 July 2009.

The Pride March 2009 will take place on Saturday 18 July at 1000 hrs at City Gate, Valletta.

The Pink Singers, a London based gay and lesbian choir and the Young Christian Workers Choir, Symphonik, have come together to put up a joint concert which will be held on the 18th July at the City Theatre in Valetta as part of the this year’s Diverscity week activities.

Personal relationships and friendships between gay and straight have been shown to reduce the incidence of homophobia as myths and stereotypes crumble, the MGRM said.

This year’s WomenSpace, an event exclusively for women which celebrates the lives of sexual minority women will be held at the Gaia Foundation in Ghajn Tuffieha on Wednesday 15 July from 2000hrs onwards.

The LGBT Film Festival will once again be held at St James Cavalier and will open the Diverscity Week. The films to be screened on the 13, 14 and 16 of July are “Ma Vie en Rose”, “I Can’t Think Straight” and “Bent”.
