The Labour Party's youth forum (FZL) has said that they believe Malta should start recognizing civil partnerships between couples of the same sex. According to the forum this should be done to ensure that the same-sex couples are legally protected and have the same rights as heterosexual couples.

In a statement issued today the forum said that it will be taking part in this year's Malta Gay Prime March.

The march is organized by the Malta Gay Rights Movement and has been dubbed the "I am Pride" march.

In their statement, the labour youth forum said that the forum plans to reach out to the gay community further, as it has continuously done so throughout the past few years. FZL reinstated its position on gay rights, and stated that the forum is in favor of more rights for the gay community.

FZL concluded by saying that the forum would be attending the march to show it's solidarity with the gay community- which is a community which is still fighting for its rights.
