Alternattiva Demokratika appellat għall-adozzjoni tal-liġi li tinforza l-eliminazzjoni ta’ kull forma ta’ diskriminazzjoni sabiex f’għajnejn l-Istat kulħadd ikun indaqs, irrispettivament mill-orjentazzjoni sesswali tal-persuna. Qalet li tali liġi hi importanti għal politika soċjali inklussiva.

Iċ-Ċhairperson ta’ Alternattiva Demokratika, Michael Brigulio, qal li l-partiti l-Ħodor minn dejjem kienu l-iktar partiti progressivi meta wieħed jiġi għad-drittijiet ta’ persuni b’orjentazzjoni differenti. Żied li r-rekord tal-Ħodor fil-Parlament Ewropew huwa eżempju ċar ta’ dan, u Malta mhi xejn inqas.

Brigulio żied li l-prinċipji ta’ Alternattiva mhumiex għall-bejgħ u l-partit immexxi minnu dejjem kien kontra kull diskriminazzjoni abbażi orjentazzjoni sesswali, b’pożizzjoni dikjarata ċara favur tipi ta’ sħubija ċivili. Qal li anki fi ħdan il-MEUSAC, Alternattiva hi l-uniku partit kompletament favur d-direttiva kontra d-diskriminazzjoni fi ħdan l-UE.

  4. I think that AD are running too fast. There are so many primary issues that have to be tackled before thinking of Gay Adoption. In my view I have reservations about adoptions. This is a tricky situation. My partner and I have been together for 5.5 years and still think that adoption is a very hot potato.

First things first, what about Civil Union? Equal rights were the state is concerned. I on my part have been supporting my partner, 2 years part-time and these last 3.5 years full time because he is studying for his Masters.

I if was straight supporting a spouse, I would have got state help for supporting my other half. Why I as a gay person had to burden all this?
