AD launched its electoral campaign today, with the slogan 'With us you know where you stand'.

Alternattiva Demokratika today launched its campaign for the 9 March elections, presenting its nine candidates who will be contesting the 13 districtis.

Addressing a press conference in Sliema, AD chairperson Michael Briguglio said he was proud to have candidates contesting in all electoral districts.

"Our candidates are all committed to AD's policies. With us, one knows where one stands, and our representation in parliament will ensure a responsible and consistent approach to the country's challenges," Briguglio said.

He said that instead of political pique, AD represents consistency, responsibility and progressive politics.

Briguglio also revealed that next Saturday, AD will approve the most progressive manifesto for the general election.

"It will focuses on all policy areas, giving clear priority to social justice, civil rights, environmental justice and sustainable development," he said.

Briguglio said that AD was the only political party in Malta which has been consistently ahead of its time by supporting the introduction of divorce, Malta's accession to the EU, the use of gas.

"AD is also the only party insisting on the introduction of gay marriages and decriminalisation of drugs for personal use."

In a jibe to Labour's Malta for all slogan, Briguglio said that AD hoped that Armier is returned to the country. He also said that he expected the Malta Envrionment and Planning Authority (MEPA) to represent the whole of the country and not the interests of the construction industry, whose owners are "friends of the political parties".
