Sliema Deputy Mayor Cyrus Engerer has had a complaint brought against him by his former boyfriend dropped.
Engerer – who earlier this year had resigned from the PN and moved on toLabour – was at the centre of a controversial charge which was issued some 10 days after his resignation, sparking a debate on whether a complaint filed by Marvic Camilleri back in January 2010 deliberately surfaced for prosecution.
Lawyer Franco Debono, who is appearing for Cyrus Engerer confirmed that complainant Marvic Camilleri has formally dropped the charges against his client and had filed a note with the courts.
Camilleri had complained that Engerer had circulated compromising photographs of himself to friends and his employer.
