Alternattiva Demokratika has reiterated its commitment to ensure that Maltese LGBT people are treated as full citizens without exception, enjoying all the rights and responsibilities as all other citizens.
AD spokeswoman for social policy and civil rights, Angele Deguara said that AD’s manifesto met all six priorities identified by MGRM for the next legislature.
“We are also pleased to be raising the national bar in favour of marriage equality and the removal of discrimination in parenting and adoption legislation, thus ensuring that Maltese LGBT people are treated at a par with fellow LGBT people in modern European countries like Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden, and soon France and the United Kingdom.
AD chairman Michael Briguglio said AD in parliament would ensure that LGBT issues are on the agenda.
“Alternattiva Demokratika is the only party that stands for real and uncompromised change for LGBT people. We are proud to support MGRM in this regard".
